Best hotel stay for Kyoto and exactly as I remember it before. Highly recommend
I’ve stayed here before two years ago. I loved it. The decor at the time was more traditional and since then it has changed and become modernised. It was a very very comfortable stay. The rooms are super spacious compared to a lot of hotels in Tokyo. The shower facilities are excellent. They give you all the essentials you’ll need in the bathroom including bath salts that were much needed after long days. I wanted a double bed but only a twin room was available. They put the two beds together for me which was lovely of them. I didn’t have the breakfast this time but there’s a cafe nearby that doesn’t great sandwiches and pastries. The location is great! Hotel is directly opposite yamashina station. You’re one stop from Kyoto and a direct line to Osaka available. So you can make day trips to Osaka and Kobe easily. I would happily stay here again and plan to come back to Japan as often as possible. The rooms are soundproof so I never heard the trains. I had the best sleep here. They have black out curtains and air conditioning available. It was not stuffy or hot even with air conditioning off. They were super accommodating in helping me send my luggage to the next hotel. Thank you
Breakfast is expensive. I last stayed here before Covid restrictions in 2023 and it was cheaper. Very traditional Japanese breakfast and it was good. This time it seems too expensive when you can get good breakfast outside and close to yamashina station.

Very modern hotel right next to train station.
Staff could be trained in speaking English as that was a struggle a few times.
